CCO 2015 Awards: Excellence in Teaching

Recipient: Dr. Rajeev Malhotra, Academy of Learning College.

Rajeev comes from an impressive background, garnering most of his academic credentials in the medical field in India, where he held Professor positions. He is also a retired Lieutenant Colonel.

Rajeev volunteered to work as a Doctor in a remote village in India, where he was astounded by the illiteracy and lack of knowledge of health among the villagers. Rajeev not only arranged for safe drinking water for the village, but he initiated a program to teach the people in the village how to read and write, and gave them basic health education as well.

When he immigrated to Canada in 2002 and was unable to continue to practice medicine, he decided to pursue his other profession, or as he calls it, his “Life Changing Mission.”

Medical Office Administration Honours Graduate Emilia Stefanova wrote “I can state with confidence that he is the best teacher I have ever dealt with in my thirty years of studying [and] teaching in Canada and abroad. His inspiring actions light the candle of hope in [his students] hearts; thus, he motivates and encourages us to make our world a better place.”

His latest graduates hailed him as the “King of Instructors.”
