I have gained extensive expertise and knowledge during my 16 years as an inspector with the Career Colleges Branch, Ministry of Colleges and Universities.

I have reviewed hundreds of Career College registration applications and know that the process can often take months longer than necessary due to deficiencies that could have been avoided. In my past role as inspector, I have sat on the other side of the desk and know what the Ministry requires.

As a consultant, I now bring this expertise to clients as I accompany them every step of the way in submitting a complete, high-quality application first time round, ensuring quicker turn-around and savings in time and money.

If you already operate a registered career college, you know the Ministry takes its enforcement duties seriously and maintaining good relations with your regulator is key. Vaccines offered include those mandated by various colleges and universities and educational authorities, and include: Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Tetanus, Diptheria and Pertussis (Tdap), Tetanus, Tdap + Polio, Polio, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Meningococccal, Tuberculin Skin Test, Influenza and Covid-19. OVERVIEW:

Recognizing that career colleges have unique reporting requirements which are defined by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, our firm has developed an audit team that understands both the technical requirements as well as specific audit requirements.

We have experience in executing as well as assisting our clients in streamlining the year end, prepaid unearned revenue, revenue by source, PCCA trust account, foreign and domestic student enrolment and KPI audits. We also have compiled pro-forma financial statements for schools seeking PCC registration as well as acted as a Subject Matter Expert for PCCs seeking MCU approval of new vocational programs.

We have also acted as compliance monitors for various PCCs providing the necessary on site visits and compliance reports required by MCU.

Our experience on KPI audits for new OSAP registrations allow our firm to have a supportive role with respect to compliance for OSAP registered colleges and colleges seeking registration.

Finally we have contributed to the Private Career College industry with respect to providing audit guidance to senior policy advisors at MCU as well we have lectured for CCO on KPI matters both at workshops and at the annual conference.  Edmund Leong, CPA, CA is currently actively acting as an advisor to the board of Career Colleges Ontario.
