Congratulations to Peel College of Professional Studies Chitralekha Potnis, the recipient of the 2024 Paul Kitchin Award for Outstanding Community Involvement in partnership with Immigrant Women in Business (IWB)!
Peel College’s remarkable initiative supports Ukrainian immigrants with a six-month, tuition-free program designed to help newcomers transition into Canadian society and the workforce. By offering training in customer service, professional selling, marketing communications, and resume writing, this program equips participants with the essential skills to build stable and fulfilling careers in Canada.
This award honours the spirit of community service and inclusion that Paul Kitchin exemplified, and we’re thrilled to see these values carried forward by Peel College and IWB. Their dedication to empowering individuals from vulnerable backgrounds is an inspiring example of the impact career colleges have on local communities and lives.
Please join us in celebrating Peel College of Professional Studies and Immigrant Women in Business for their outstanding contribution to community and career development.
We were also honoured to have Scott Kitchin, son of Paul Kitchin, and Mississauga-Malton MPP Deepak Anand join us to celebrate!
The CCO team was thrilled to meet with Ontario’s Minister of Colleges and Universities, Nolan Quinn, in October 2024, to discuss the priorities of our member colleges.
