MCU Welcomes New Director, Superintendent of Private Career Colleges

BRANTFORD, July, 2021 – Today, the Ministry of Colleges and Universities announced its Acting Director and Superintendent of Private Career Colleges, Travis Coulter, is stepping into a new role as Director of the Student Financial Assistance Branch effective July 12, 2021. Beginning Monday, the ministry will welcome Laura Adams as the new Director and Superintendent. 

“We are deeply grateful for Travis’ work with the PCC Branch, Career Colleges Ontario, and the sector. As Director and Superintendent, Travis has elevated the ministry’s commitment to collaboration and sector engagement, and we are thrilled to continue working with him in his new role at the Financial Assistance Branch,” said CCO’s Chair, Adrian Sharma. 


Laura is currently the Director of Rapid Response and Outbreak Management at the Ministry of Health, where she leads various initiatives, including the High Priority Communities Strategy, prioritization of vulnerable communities for vaccination, and mobile workplace vaccination clinics. 

“We are also excited to welcome Laura Adams in her new role as Director and Superintendent. Laura has an impressive background collaborating with community stakeholders, which will be an invaluable asset she brings to this position.” 

The memorandum was distributed to all Ontario career colleges and written by Tamara Gilbert, Assistant Deputy Minister, Advanced Education Learner Supports Division.
